Dr. Vinicio Sinta

Vinicio Sinta is a Lecturer in Communication at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where he is the faculty adviser for Enlace, the school’s bilingual newscast. Sinta manages the Univision Media Lab, a joint initiative of A&M-SA and Univision KWEX-41 that provides students the opportunity to complete a capstone project and immersive practicum internship in radio and television at the station’s studios in northwest San Antonio.

Sinta holds a Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin (2018). His dissertation is a historical study of the formation of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, its antecedents, and context. His broader research interests revolve around Latinxs in US media and oral history. For the past six years, Sinta has been an ongoing collaborator with the Voces Oral History Center at UT-Austin in a variety of capacities, including acting as the founding managing editor of the US Latina & Latino Oral History Journal, published by the University of Texas Press.
